New Zealand's prominence in the world of wine, which far outstrips our modest production, also bears testimony to an enterprising, creative spirit. Brancott Estate™ wines are products of Kiwi creativity, but we’re also a catalyst for creative activity through sponsorship.
Since 1998 we’ve proudly sponsored the Brancott Estate World of WearableArt Awards Show® - a unique combination of sculpture, fashion design and theatrical staging. This annual event celebrating creativity has become a unique New Zealand icon.
The Brancott Estate World of WearableArt Awards take art off the wall to adorn the body in wildly wonderful ways, which are then presented on-stage as a moving exhibition. All art disciplines are encouraged and entries display overlapping skills in sculpture, architecture, weaving, painting, glass craft, fabric design and even engineering.
The Wellington show was created by Nelson sculptor, Suzie Moncrieff in 1986, growing from a promotional event for a rural Nelson art gallery to what is now ‘the’ contemporary artistic showcase for emerging and experienced artists, sculptors, and fabric designers.
