AROMA AND PALATE
Sweet raspberries, red cherries and spicy aromas are initially apparent with further scrutiny revealing hints of vanillin, liquorice, some savoury complexity and perfumed fruit aromas.
The palate displays plummy fruit flavours leading through to black cherry. These fruit aromas, combined with spicy notes, balance the tobacco, dried herb and savoury complexity - all delivered on a well-rounded palate of fine length.
Its fine structure and intense concentration make this an ideal wine match for a wide range of foods, especially porcini or field mushroom pasta or risotto. The richness also lends itself to rare venison, grilled ostrich or a variety of slow-cooked game meat casseroles with winter vegetables.
